With which instruments is it possible to take on the work world today? This was the theme around which the thoughts developed of Cattolica Managing Director, Alberto Minali. In the role of leader of a large national insurance group, he delivered a speech during an event organised in Rome by Elis, an educational non-profit structure that focuses on people and work, proposing professionalism as a service for the common good. “In addition to following personal passions and inclinations - Alberto Minali pointed out before the crowded group of students who participated in the meeting - my advice is to always keep curiosity and an attitude for change alive. Put the anxiety of a career path aside, because that is only a direct consequence of your work. Instead, work hard on building professionalism that is in line with your values.”

Remaining anchored to these suggestions, Alberto Minali then cited the values system on which the insurance company is based. From the spirit of sacrifice to meritocracy, from teamwork to the collective effort to achieving a result, the MD told about the identity system that led Cattolica to the decision to sponsor the Italian Federation of Rugby, a sports discipline capable of interpreting the company’s values.

Coming back to the combination of youth and work, the Cattolica MD then told those in attendance about the evolution undertaken by the company also through the launching of a profitable collaboration relationship with Elis, an organisation for young people, professionals and companies to respond to the school-work divide and unemployment of young people and to contribute to the sustainable development of organisations. For the last two years, the company has participated in the fellowship that the training organisation proposes to national companies who want to undertake open innovation paths: in fact, the goal of the initiative is to have companies and latest generation startups meet and dialogue in the spirit of launching common growth and development strategies.
