Cattolica alongside Europa Donna for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer

An innovative and complete platform with chatboxes, geolocalisations, testimonials, clear, personalised and reliable answers 24 hours a day: the first Italian portal was launched on 11 December in Milan, created with the aim of helping women affected by breast cancer to orientate themselves along their own treatment path and to raise awareness amongst the entire female population to prevent this oncological disease. The platform, promoted by the movement for the rights of women with breast cancer, Europa Donna Italia, was also created with the support of Cattolica Assicurazioni, which is working alongside those who are fighting a disease that, in Italy, affects one in every eight women.
In an era in which the first instinctive reaction, after discovering a lump, is to seek answers independently on the internet, Europa Donna’s proposal was founded: to create a portal capable of providing all people affected by the topic with content managed by doctors and journalists specialising on healthcare topics, which gathers and provides accurate information without sacrificing simplicity, through clear and accessible advice and documentation. The new portal is proposed as an information platform, structured on the basis of indications received by patients to best meet their needs: from the research of the Multidisciplinary Senology Centre closest to their home, to practical advice on how to cope with daily tasks during the treatment process, via a summary of the most innovative treatments and prevention programmes.
The website, which can be accessed via the address europadonna.it, is an open and wide-ranging project which will continue to grow and expand, thanks to the contribution and suggestions of each individual female visitor.
