Milan, 23 July 2019 – Cattolica Assicurazioni, one of the biggest players on the Italian insurance market and the sector’s only cooperative company listed on the Borsa di Milano, has joined Fondazione Sodalitas, Italy’s first organisation to promote corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

Founded in 1995 by Assolombarda and an initial group of companies and voluntary managers, Fondazione Sodalitas now represents a network of leading companies on the Italian market, which form the leading edge of the business community that have chosen to “do business” sustainably. The Fondazione also partners with European institutions and the main international networks, such as CSR Europe, on projects to promote sustainability.

We constantly undertake to adopt and incorporate the sustainability philosophy in a CSR activity that involves each level of the organisation, promoting best practices and more and more responsible innovation for the corporate stakeholders and territories involved”, said Alberto Minali, Chief Executive Officer of the Cattolica Assicurazioni Group. “From the very start, the culture of sustainability has been pivotal in the company’s business vision and in its idea of the relationship with the economic system and the social partners. Becoming part of a high-level network such as Fondazione Sodalitas is an opportunity to compare our standards with those of other highly prestigious firms and to increase our know-how.

We are proud to welcome a company such as Cattolica Assicurazioni as our associate, a company which has always been conscious of sustainability issues and which has its sights set on integrating sustainability into business activities”, said Adriana Spazzoli, Chairwoman of Fondazione Sodalitas. “The network of businesses that make sustainability a strategic decision is growing more and more and Fondazione Sodalitas is committed to acknowledging the effort of these companies, which are capable of generating a common social value to benefit the community, territories and individuals. We are pleased that Cattolica Assicurazioni has immediately joined the CEOs Call to Action, a call for senior management teams across Europe who consider sustainability to be a central and qualifying aspect of their way of doing business, and which was recently launched by CSR Europe and Fondazione Sodalitas”.
