Cattolica Assicurazioni is a leading company in the Italian economic landscape: the company is one of the leading groups in the Italian insurance sector, with a premium income of approximately EUR 4.5 million. The Cattolica Group comprises 16 companies; twelve insurance companies, over 1,500 employees, more than 1,450 agencies and 420 social security advisors. Furthermore, it distributes its policies through 5,500 Bank branches and almost 1,300 financial advisers.

The company has asserted itself over the decades on a national level after coming to be with an important story.

In February 1896, at the church of Saint Eufemia in Verona, the Società Cattolica di Assicurazioni was founded. The founding members - also members of the Opera dei congressi movement - looked to live out the economic and social indications given in the encyclical, Reram Novarum. Between them, they considered the people at the centre of the Italian Catholic movement.

Cattolica Assicurazioni focuses itself on people, families, small-and medium-sized businesses and professional activities. The presence of the Cattolica Assicurazioni in this section of the market has successfully increased over the years. The domestic business is conducted by a highly qualified, corporate network, by Cattolica Previdenza social security advisers. The company also makes use of finance agreements which are stipulated with partners of great importance: the Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Iccrea (Cooperative Banks), Ubi Banca.

It should be noted that Cattolica is the only insurance company in Italy which is structured as a cooperative enterprise and certainly one of the very few with a century-spanning history. Its members total over 24,000. Through its relationship with its members, the company aims to put complete emphasis on the true cooperative nature, promoting ethical values which are at the core of its foundations.
