Cattolica is one of the new sponsors of Tocatì, the International Festival of Street Games

From 13 to 16 September 2018, Verona will host the 16th edition of Tocatì, the International Festival of Street Games founded by Verona’s Associazione Giochi Antichi (Association of Historical Games) in collaboration with the Municipality of Verona. For the first time Cattolica Assicurazioni will be one of its sponsor organisations. As it does year upon year, the event will bring the most beautiful squares in the city’s historic centre to life with an extensive range of traditional street games, both Italian and from overseas, allowing visitors to take part and try them out. This year’s special guest is the South of France, represented by groups of players from Occitanie, Provence, the Alps and French Riviera, New Occitanie and the Basque areas. Multiple related events are also scheduled, such as meetings and cultural talks, children’s events, musical entertainment and a selection of food and drink.
“We are extremely pleased,” stated Emanuela Vecchiet, Head of Communications and Institutional Relations for Cattolica Assicurazioni, “that this year Cattolica has become a sponsor of Tocatì, an event that for 16 years has attracted tourists and visitors, particularly families, from all over the world. The decision to support Verona’s Associazione Giochi Antichi is linked to the Group’s desire to help promote an event that offers the chance to revive recreational traditions from days gone, one that fills the city squares with an immense cultural heritage at risk of being forgotten. In modern society, where technology is the protagonist of every waking moment, including recreation, it is important to seize these opportunities for traditional fun. We can teach more young people that reality is, even now, made of time offline and an enrichment that comes from the chance to try games from times past, which are often educational and formative. This is the formula around which Tocatì has over the years built an event of great stature, which as of today Cattolica proudly supports.”
