Cattolica branches out into education: postgraduate course at the University of Verona promoted by the Company now underway

Last Friday 8 March, the first postgraduate specialisation course in “Actuarial Science and Risk Management in the Insurance Business” started, organised by the Department of Economics of the University of Verona in partnership with Cattolica Assicurazioni. The course was officially opened in the classrooms of the economics hub of the Veronese university by Massimo Di Tria, Chief Investment Officer of the Group, and was followed by an introductory lesson led by Stefano Semolini, Director of Corporate and Legal Affairs. The programme, which will involve various directors and employees of the Company in teaching roles, is dedicated to anyone who works in the insurance sector and deals with financial and insurance consultancy, auditing, finance and pensions, and is also recommended for anyone preparing for the state exam to become an actuary.
The lessons allow students to increase their specialised training in the actuarial field, allowing them to improve their knowledge and professional skills in managing the risks of insurance companies. The course entails 144 hours of lessons, structured into 10 subject modules, each of which deals with a topic of a different nature: Insurance and pension legislation, Probability and mathematical finance, Actuarial mathematics, Insurance statistics, Actuarial technique of life insurance, Actuarial technique of non-life insurance, Derivatives, Reinsurance models, Budget and reporting models, Models for the evaluation of insurance portfolios and for Risk Management.
