Italy Protection Award 2019: The Communications and Distribution departments at Cattolica Assicurazioni receive awards

The sixth edition of the Italy Protection Awards, an event held during the two-day Italy Protection Forum organised by EMFgroup in support of protection insurance, was celebrated in Milan yesterday. The gala evening saw the usual prize-giving for sector companies and individuals who have made their mark. Audience members included reinsurers, insurance companies, insurance brokers, insurance agents, banking institutes and services companies. Cattolica Assicurazioni received two awards. “For effectiveness in increasing a brand’s value”, the promotional campaign was awarded “Ready for Life”, with a plaque accepted by Emanuela Vecchiet, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations. “For defining a system agreement that creates valuable synergy between company, agents and secondary networks for the customer’s benefit”, an award was given to Marco Lamola, Director of Distribution and Professional Channels.

Following the prize-giving evening, the event by EMFgroup continued with a day of round tables where the issue of protection in the insurance sector was discussed in more depth. The General Director of Cattolica, Valter Trevisani, took part in the opening meeting, “Thinking about new opportunities in the sector”: “The next step that Cattolica is focused on”, stated Trevisani, “is moving away from the traditional damage-compensation paradigm to a system of services with our customers’ need for protection and prevention at its core.” Other speakers on the day included Marco Passafiume, Head of Bancassurance, who touched upon the opportunities that can be seized by the bancassurance channel by aiming for the simplification of products and sales processes. Massimo Montecchio, Head of Marketing, took part in a panel dedicated to modifiable risk factors, speaking about how insurance firms must no longer only concentrate on the Auto Sector – a vehicle we spend, on average, two hours in – in order to build integrated offers that are more and more personalised. Lastly, Luigi Barcarolo, Director of Auto Insurance, Insurance Analytics and Business Architecture, at the “Ageing Population: Opportunities” talk, reminded the audience of the operations carried out by Cattolica for assistance services, through two sector organisations: Coopselios and IMA.
