Italy wins the first Cattolica Test Match against Georgia

In the “Artemio Franchi” stadium, which was full of fans, with over three thousand Georgians having flocked to Florence for the debut of the Cattolica Test Match, Italrugby won, having beaten Georgia by 28-17. The tough mission of the Italian national team was to beat the Georgian team, in order to climb up the world ranking, in which it is now in thirteenth place.

At the end of the match, the Chief Executive Officer of Cattolica Assicurazioni, Alberto Minali, went onto the pitch to award “the Man of the Match”: the third line of Italia Braam, Steyn, who, in a decisive game for the Italian national team's movement, excellently replaced the captain, Sergio Parisse, who was unable to play due to problem with his calf.

Having achieved the glorious result, it is now time to look ahead, with the second of three Cattolica Test Matches: on Saturday 17 November, at 15:00, the Italian national team will host the Australian Wallabies at the Euganeo Stadium in Padua.
