World Pride: Italian women's national deaf volleyball team takes second place at the Deaflympics

An excellent result for both national teams, supported by Cattolica Assicurazioni: at the Deaflympics in Caixas do Sul the women's team took silver and the men's team bronze.

The participation of the Italian national deaf volleyball teams in the volleyball tournaments at the Deaflympics, the Olympics for the deaf, held in Caixas do Sul, Brazil, was a resounding success. Both the Italian teams, which Cattolica Assicurazioni has been supporting for several years, ascended to the podium: the women’s team took the silver medal and the men’s team the bronze.

The most anticipated final was that played by the athletes coached by Loredana Bava, who on the afternoon of Friday, 13 May competed against Turkey, by whom they were defeated 3-1. The silver medal is an honour for the entire team, which remains the most successful national team in the history of deaf volleyball, and for the entire movement they represent.
