“Il Campiello is the feather in the cap of Veneto industrialists. We feel a great responsibility because the selection criteria of the literary awards can indirectly influence the canons of literature, thereby becoming the objective to which writers aspire.” With these words, chairman of the Fondazione Il Campiello and Veneto Confindustria, Matteo Zoppas, opened the event with #CampielloRacconta, the official presentation of the 57th edition of the Campiello Award, which Cattolica Assicurazioni sponsors. Our company, which has always supported culture and "making culture", decided to confirm support once again this year of the prestigious initiative that has awarded about 300 books since 1963, launching more than 8 thousand authors in the 23 editions of "Campiello Giovani", under the sign of a conviction that investing in culture means investing in the future of the country and its youth.

“Entrepreneurs decided to create this literary award and today we hold high those values of independence, transparency and ethics which we desire to transfer to the Italian society – Zoppas continued. I wish to thank all our sponsors, because without their support, all of this would not be possible.” During the event, held on Tuesday, 7 May in the exclusive setting of Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, in the presence of the chairman of the Judging Panel of Scholars, Carlo Nordio and  judges Roberto Vecchioni and Philippe Daverio, the hostess was also announced for the finals, scheduled for 14 September at the La Fenice Theatre in Venice: it will be television and radio hostess Andrea Delogu. “For the first time, the finals evening will be televised live on Rai5 – Piero Luxardo pointed out, chairman of the Award Management Committee. I wish to thank Andrea Delogu for having accepted our invitation and I am certain that she will present these finals, enhancing them with her charisma and professionalism.” Also present, among others, were authors Gesuino Nemus, Beatrice Masini, Alessandro Bertante, Antonio Scurati, Paolo Colagrande and Giorgio Falco. The next event, where the names of the five finalists will be announced, is set for 31 May in Padua.
